Jules Jack: julesj@twb.org.uk
As an estate planner, I have a special interest in:
couples living and coping with the 'sandwich generation' life;
how increased longevity has and will continue to change the relationship between young and old;
vulnerable and elderly clients
I've had a lot of experience with elderly care, planning for tomorrow and three generation living. My mother was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006 (at which point both my parents came to live with me, my wife and three sons). My father passed away from prostate cancer in 2013 after progressive deterioration from 2007/8 (we watched him deteriorate from man to baby). Moreover, my parents-in-law were both in their upper 90s, suffering with dementia and residing in a care home when they passed away in. My wife was both an attorney and deputy for them.
During my father's illness and the time spent arranging his funeral, it became crystal clear how few people I knew had either made a Will, put in place Lasting Power of Attorney or had considered inheritance tax implications on their estate. The majority had not started making thinking of or making provision for care of elderly parents and loved ones.
I've been married for nearly thirty years and my wife and I have three sons; you'll be in good hands as far as life experience is concerned. All the above mean I am able to bring a high level of empathy when dealing with most clients and their families.
I'm an experienced public speaker in the fields of both estate planning and healthy ageing. I am also STEP qualified (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
In a former lives, I was the IT Director for a major food retailer and thereafter, a level4 personal trainer (the highest qualification), with a specialism of the management of diabetes and obesity.
You’ll find me an interesting an honest guy to deal with.
